All cases showed chromosomal findings corresponding to established cytogenetic subsets of renal oncocytomas: 3 cases with normal karyotypes, 1 case with rearrangement of 11q, and 4 cases with losses of chromosome 14. In the latter cytogenetic subgroup, monosomy 14 was additionally accompanied by either monosomy I in 2 cases or loss of 1p in a third case, providing insights in the cytogenetic evolution of this subgroup.
