Reaction of [{p-MeC6H4C(NSiMe3)(2)}(2)TiCl2] (1) with NaNH2 gave the novel titanium aggregate [{p-MeC6H4C(NSiMe3)(2)Ti}(6)(mu(3)-NH)(6)(mu(3)-N)(2). 6C(7)H(8)] (2). Treatment of 1 with potassium in liquid ammonia and toluene produced the titanium(III) complex [{p-MeC6H4C(NSiMe3)(2)}(3)Ti] (3). Compound 2 contains the largest Ti-N core so far reported.
