Abstract

Lejeunea oligoclada and L. rionegrensis, two Lejeuneaceae species known until now only from their type localities (Brazil and Venezuela, respectively) are described and illustrated and a map showing their geographical distribution, based on many new and older herbaria collections, is presented. Lejeunea oligoclada is found in SE Brazil and is considered to be an endemic of the Atlantic Coastal Region. Lejeunea rionegrensis is found in Venezuela, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. A lectotype for L. rionegrensis is designated.
