The reaction of the in situ prepared LLi (L=Et2NCH2CH2NC(Me)CHC(Me)NCH2CH2NEt2) with LnBr(3) (Ln = Y, Sm, and Yb) led to the solvent and alkali salt free dibromoderivative of type LLnBr(2) (Ln = Y, 1, Sm, 2, and Yb, 3). Compounds 1-3 were characterized by X-ray crystallography, elemental analysis, and NMR (1), and their structural features were correlated with those of other compounds bearing the same ligand.
